Context:

In 1962 Dubuffet invented a fantastical pictorial world he named Hourloupe, which is exemplified by Bustle. Constructed like a jigsaw puzzle, the heavily outlined shapes are filled with textures from The Phenomena series or parallel lines of shading. Printed in primary colors, camouflaged figures must be found, just like in a children's puzzle in which objects are hidden in a busy scene.
