Note: This is the first edition (and perhaps the only edition). The title calls for ten maps, but there are actually 11 maps, one U.S. map and ten state maps. Each state map (actually, groups of states) is accompanied by an index sheet of places on the map. The state maps appear in the 1825 Universal atlas by Morse (see our #3812) where some of the maps are updated. Pasted on the cover is a slip with a lovely engraving of a globe with "Morse's new atlas of the United States on an improved plan..." on it. Scarce.
