This is a variant edition without MacDonald's name on the title page and with Belden as publisher (see our #3938), and includes entirely different local maps and views covering the Eastern Townships and South Western Quebec. This is similar to the Andreas Iowa Atlas having different views for different Congressional Districts. It is not clear how many different issues were made of this atlas - Phillips lists only one, and does not say which county it covers. Full printed color. Atlas is bound in half leather dark brown cloth covered boards with "Illustrated Atlas of the Dominion of Canada" gold stamped on front cover and blind stamped on back. Atlas contains engravings of various lot and street plans, Town layouts, and sketches of historical and farm residences. Some engravings are printed by Rolf Smith & Co. Also included are color maps. Some maps are prepared under the direction of D. MacDonald. Published in Toronto by H. Belden & Co. Bound in ¼ morocco with cloth boards, front board with embossed title in gold.
