Using data visualization, the graphs and charts represent financial statistics such as the number of national and state banks and trust companies in the United States, as well as their average capital, from 1867 to 1909. The tables show the laws, practices, and statistics of the principal banks of England, France, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Switzerland and Belgium, with information dating from 1694 (England) to 1850 (Belgium).
