Pub Title:
London 1944 As Seen by an A.R.P. Observer on the Roof of the Bank of England in the Summer of That Year.
Pub Note:
"Printed at the Baynard Press, Number stamped 305 in top corner, with a printed letter, signed by [Lord] Catto, Governor of the Bank of England to an employee. This rare and attractive map was drawn by a member of the bank staff, Arthur Bond, which he originally prepared to serve as a “Roofspotters’ Guide” during the time of the flying bomb menace. It would appear that the bank produced a small number, possibly 500 copies only, for presenta tion to employees and others. Although held by 6 of the copyright libraries [not Cambridge], it remains elusive in commerce and at auction." (Michael Kemp, 2022)
