One of the first produced maps of Florida, after Florida's admission to the Union on March 3, 1845. With 3 insets. Engraved by D. McClelland. Shows forts, military camps, coastal islands, rivers, lakes, and townships. Two of the insets relate to proposed railroads. Joseph Goldsborough Bruff was a civilian draftsman and artist with the Bureau of Topographical Engineers, he participated in California Gold Rush, and also worked on the United States Capitol as an ornamental designer and draftsman.
