An airplane in the sky bearing the slogan ��we��ll soon be there!�� approaches the state line along with a train, a bus and cars, while railroad cars carrying California produce head east. Chase created this highly distorted view of the United States as perceived by Californians. One-third the size of the rest of the country, the state is perpetually drenched by the sun.
