Note Outline colored boundaries, detailed map of Asia. With a vignette "View of the city of Pekin & part of the Chinese Wall". The atlas is the second edition and includes the extra map of the Arctic and two extra maps of Australia. The text adds a section on Voyages of Discovery. Two additional maps are laid in, one of South America, the other of Mexico. Each map has a small vignette illustrating a subject related to the map. Half leather paper-covered boards with label pasted on front printed with title. Prime meridian is Greenwich. Relief shown pictorially.

Note Hand drawn map of the World in hemispheres. A well executed wall map done most likely as a school exercise and then preserved as a wall map. Very similar to the Map of the World by M. Anslin, also a manuscript map, and possibly a school project as well (see our copy, #3227). With black top and bottom rollers, and black linen edging. Outline color by continent.
