This large scale map was part of a huge and comprehensive railroad map of the United States, first issued by Rand McNally in 1888 (see our 5802). This is probably a reduced scale issue of our #3117, first issued in 1885. Outline color by state. Dissected into 32 sections. Map has a brown marbled paper end sheet and folds into a new gray cloth folding case 29x23 with "Shippers' Railroad Map Rand McNally 1909" stamped in gilt along the spine.
