5005.000 |
| Note |
This is the colored edition of same map that appears in the 1876 Annual Report of the General Land Office (see our #4591). The GLO issued colored versions of the eighteen 1876 Annual Report maps in the very scarce "Geographical and Political Atlas of the States and Territories of the United States...," where, we presume, they were folded. This copy is not folded and thus was probably issued as a separate, not noted by Kelsay in her Dakota list. Compared to the black and white issue, this colored version is far more readable, especially regarding the Indian Reservations, the Military Reservations, and the railroad grants. Relief shown by hachures. |
