Manuscript Map
| Authors |
Leland, H. |
| Full Title |
New England. H. Leland. |
| List No |
3195.000 |
| Note |
Very well executed uncolored map with small vignettes. Leland is probably the Henry Leland mentioned in Appletons' as an artist, although his dates are listed as 1850-1877. The map is dated as 1853 because of the watermark date on the paper. However, the map could have been drawn later. In any event, the name of Henry Leland goes back to the Henry Leland who settled in Massachusetts in 1653 - this H. Leland who made the map is probably from that family. |
