Note Manuscript pencil drawing of the junction of the Clinch and Tennessee Rivers, and a part of Kingston, Tennessee. It is dated 13 November, 1863. It was drawn for the Union forces before the siege of Knoxville by the Confederates from Dec. 1863 to Feb. 1864. "Rebel Pickets" are shown in two locations next to the river. See Plate 48:2, "Atlas to Accompany..." Bowen made made several maps for the Union forces (seven listings in Stephenson). See also the Bowen ms map of Fort Sanders, Tenn., at Knoxville. The words "Plan of" in the title are crossed out in ink. Relief shown by hachures.
