Larger than the 1889 edition -- scale changed from 10.5 to 10 mile/in. This edition is still hand colored, and, although larger than the 1889, it is the same map, somehow blown up by the lithographic process. The coloring of this copy is particularly fine. Map is folded into brown cloth covers 19x12 with "Nell's Map of Colorado" in gilt. Relief shown by contours, hachures and spot heights. Shows counties, settlements, post offices, Indian reservations, land grants, U.S. land offices, irrigation canals, timber reserves, etc. |
