This is a wonderful piece that includes a large map of the state (exceeding the Peck and Messinger in size) with inset maps of Geology and Topography, profiles, population tables, list of forest trees, table of epochs, listing of mineral resources, description of climate, and a list of principal towns. This may be the only map that Blanchard made with Walling, and it is probably one of the few separate pocket maps made of a mid western state by Walling. First, and only edition. Full color. Map is folded into black cloth covers 15.5x10.5 with "Sectional Map Of Illinois Blanchard." in gilt. |
