Both maps come from Johnson's "New Illustrated & Embellished County Map of the Republics of North America" (see our #4012). This eastern map was also issued under other titles (see our #4812) and was the source of several of the maps in Colton's Octavo Atlas of The Union (see our #2526). Full color by state. It is folded into dark brown cloth covers 15.5x10 with the title "Colton's Travelers' Map Of The United States, Showing The Counties, Railroads, &c G.W. & C.B. Colton & Co" stamped in gold.
