<a href="http://www.nps.gov/gois/planyourvisit/map-of-the-governors-island-ferry-terminal-at-the-battery-maritime-building.htm" target="new">Battery Maritime Building</a>
The ferry to Governors Island departs from the 1909 Battery Maritime Building, 10 South Street at the corner of Whitehall and South Streets, next door to the Staten Island ferry terminal in lower Manhattan.
The Battery Maritime Building is not in Battery Park. It is not the same location as the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island Ferry.
The Battery Maritime Building was formerly known as the Municipal Ferry Terminal, with ferry service to South Brooklyn; this service succumbed in 1938 to competition from bridges and the subway.
