Note
Relief shown by hachures, shading and spot heights. Digital mosaic of Wheeler survey sheets 47D and 56B (1877) georectified to modern elevation data. Moving outward from the shoreline the historical maps are incrementally morphed into a digital monochromatic shaded relief image derived from modern National Elevation Dataset data (USGS). In the two upper corners the shaded relief image morphs into a true color Landsat 7 image (NASA, 1999).
