Some of the finest maps of the period. This atlas was very accurate in this first edition, later editions were not always updated sufficiently. Bound in half leather marbled paper covered boards with a leather label embossed with "Geographical Atlas" in gold. Maps are in full color. The text cover is similar to that of the atlas, with a leather label embossed with "Modern Geography" in gold. The date 1829 appears on p. 221 of text. |
