Some of the finest maps of the period. This atlas was very accurate in this first edition; later editions were not always updated sufficiently. Bound in half leather marbled paper covered boards with a leather label embossed with "Geographical Atlas" in gold. Maps are in full color. The text cover is similar to that of the atlas, with a leather label embossed with "Modern Geography" in gold. The date 1829 appears on p. 221 of text.
