Shows most of Missouri and Arkansas, with parts of adjoining states. In the margin is printed: "Rand McNally & Co' New Shippers' Map of the United States. Copyright, 1888... 1891... 1895." The title above is front a printed paste down label in the bottom margin. This large scale map was part of a huge and comprehensive railroad map of the United States, first issued by Rand McNally in 1888 (see our 5802). This is probably a reduced scale issue of our #3117, first issued in 1885. Outline color by state. Dissected into 32 sections. Map has a brown marbled paper end sheet and folds into a new gray cloth folding case 29x23 with "Shippers' Railroad Map Rand McNally 1909" stamped in gilt along the spine.
