This map is smaller in scale, but still very well done. Counties outlined in red, townships in full color. Relief shown by hachures. Includes list of the counties with population. Prime meridians are Greenwich and Washington, D.C.

Many new counties are shown in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Many new completed and proposed railroads are added. Full color by county, folded into stamped red leather covers 16x10.5 with "Map Of The Western States J.H. Colton" in gilt.
