Note First Nevada County Map listed by Vogdes. The mining claims are colored, as are the towns. A very detailed map full of interesting information on land ownership and mining development. No topographic detail, except for rivers. Map is dissected into 56 sections, mounted on linen, and folds into a new gray cloth folding case 27x13.5 with "Nevada County, California J.G. Hartwell 1880" stamped in gilt on the spine.

Note Very large and detailed map of the coal fields around Pottsville, Pennsylvania. This must be one of the earliest maps of this type, and we can find no record of it. Watson's Lithography produced other coal maps during this period, and this is earlier than any that were listed. This is an unusual thematic map showing coal deposits and ownership. Edged in green silk and dissected into 36 sections. Map has marbled end sheets and folds into a new dark teal cloth folding case 39x22 with "Pennsylvania Coal Fields S.B. Fisher 1836" stamped in gilt on the spine.

Note Shows the height of coal and gold interest in Nova Scotia. A scarce map not in any listings. Extensive notes on the minerals of Nova Scotia. The printing process is color lithography, and very well done by the Canada Bank Note Co. of Montreal. Maps has pink cloth edging, marbled end sheets, and is dissected into 24 sections. Folds into a new dark blue cloth folding case 32x26.5 with "Mineral Map Of Nova Scotia A.F. Church 1889" stamped in gold on the spine. Full color.
