Has the state map in front, but does not have the Geological State map which was first published in 1889. Some of the maps of this edition are the same as the second edition, but most are earlier and do not include many topographical features and man made works that appear in the later editions. The title page is different from the second edition, and there is no list of maps, except on the title page. The maps are dated 1884 to 1888, indicating that the project was took four years to complete. Printed in full color.
