Pub Note:
12 beautifully engraved outline maps with no title, engraver, or date. The first map is a generic landform map, then follow maps of the World, North America, United States, South America, Europe, England, Scotland, Ireland, Asia, Africa, and Pennsylvania. The maps are labeled A through M, with J lacking, perhaps as issued (there is no sign of a map missing). The fact that Pennsylvania is the only state map present, to us it indicates a Philadelphia publisher. Melish and Carey are the likely ones, but it could have been Scott, or? In any event, the quality of the maps matches anything made in London at that time. With paper covered boards and quarter leather.
