1st edition 1841. Shows independent Texas. Similar to Mitchell's World which was first published in 1837. Although it looks like the Mitchell, particularly in the title and overall size, they are clearly different maps. Map is in two sheets, each dissected into 16 sections and edged in green cloth. Sheets have beautiful marbled paper end sheets, and fold in an elegant full red leather folio 39x27 embossed in gold with "Teesdale's Map Of The World" and a decorative border. No mention of the U.S. Exploring Expedition track (which the Mitchell shows). Full color by country.
