You can preview the AMICA Library using Insight® Browser. Developed by Luna Imaging, Insight® Browser allows high resolution viewing and advanced searching of images within your typical web browser.

Important! Firewalls, or Browser settings that block Pop-up Ads or Java, may prevent correct operation of Insight Browser. Test by turning off the Firewall and/or allowing Pop-ups and Java from this site only - then adjust your Firewall or Browser settings.

  • This preview version of AMICA allows for full functionality of the software and high resolution viewing for all images on just the first two pages of thumbnails. All other images can be previewed at thumbnail resolution only. However, the entire image database may be searched and displayed to give you the sense of the impressive scope of AMICA.
  • The number of images in the preview version is slightly less than in the full subscription version because of certain artist rights requirements.
  • The thumbnail images, derived from a large digital image provided by AMICA participants for education use, are displayed here for information only. If you are interested in greater detail (descriptions of all these works of art and high quality images), and would also like to view these high resolution images using the complete functionality of the Insight® Browser and Java Client software, AMICA is available by subscription to individuals, universities, schools, and public libraries.   • If you are interested in licensing the use of any particular image, please follow the Rights link in the data window of the Preview Browser to the copyright holder who can provide permission.

Quick Start Guide for using Insight Browser 5.6:

  • Insight 5.6 Browser is compatible with Internet Explorer 4.0+, Netscape 4.7+, Safari 1.2+ and Mozilla 1.1+ in Windows 2000, XP and Mac OSX.3+.
  • Browse the collection by clicking on the > or >| at the bottom of the page.
  • Search the collection by selecting a category from the list on the left.
  • Select an image by clicking on the image thumbnail once. Then view the catalogue record for the image by selecting "data" on the left-hand side.
  • Double click on an image thumbnail to open it in a new window, the Image Workspace, where you can zoom and enlarge the image.
  • From the Image Workspace, zoom in to view the image in more detail.
  • Consult the online help for more information about how to use the Insight 5.6 Browser.
